Tell me lies, 65th time

2 kinds of people go to work on bicycles; one who can't afford anything bigger and other who either voluntarily or by doctor's advice do it for health reasons. Same is the case with diet or sleep. 2 kinds of people spend a night on the street; one who is homeless and other who spends money to revel till dawn to celebrate. Are these hints towards a simple fact that Mr. Ferdinand Magellan set out to prove?

Aamir Khan is undoubtedly the most respected superstar of Hindi cinema. He is worshiped for being in command to choose different subjects and roles and still being commercially successful. That's not all. He kept himself in business for more than 2 decades. That's a package of success - enviable to his peers. A lesser gossiped aspect is his marketing skills. He applies innovative ideas to sell his movies and is a trend setter in this department. His latest venture Dhoom-3 has broken all records. It's interesting because he won the highest grosser of all time with one of his worst movies - not quite the the way he would prefer to be in history books!

AAP is in a fix - which to me is nothing surprising at all. Look at the corruption free section of our society - the mass and media. A UFO with a bunch of ETs land in India; if given to read newspapers or watch news channels to know about this new planet, would feel that there are around 5-10K corrupt individuals and 100+ crores are fighting them. It would seem to be the easiest job in the universe. They may decide to settle down here. After a recent Dharna drama of Mr. Kejriwal, few questions are being raised from a few quarters. I'm not predicting the future of AAP here... just observing the corruption-wary nation hunting for cleanliness and I'm enjoying every bit of it. Media has brought the entire nation on the verge of revolution. It's leading the pack to a corruption-free promised land. Mr. Kejriwal, let me help you to open your eyes beyond the government machinery. Let's have a look at a civilized, urban, educated class who are trying to submit income tax proofs to their employers right now (January is the season) - see how many are showing fake house rent proofs, some get it signed by their parents, some are self-sufficient. Probe any real estate deal... see the desperation of a corruption-free guy to pay some amount in black for reducing tax burdens. Mr. Kejriwal, you have all the support of these ladies and gentlemen... they have placed you on throne... and they'll pull you down the day you open your eyes.

I love gossip columns. All the updates, stories and interviews on films and film stars interest me. This has been my constant area of interest for past 2 decades. Of late film stars have come out of the closet in their business avatars. They now openly own production companies, invest in movies, go all out for promotions including appearing in television, fight for release dates of their films with other producers/actors. Gossip columns are probably the only section in the newspaper that I don't like to miss. Even on TV, I prefer Hindi movie/music channels to news channels. The never-ending breaking news and the panels digging deep into socio-political issues with no outcome - I'm tired with trial by media. I don't understand their role other than competing with their rival groups. Power brokers? Maybe.
